My question is related to the accident free period. Do you have to include accidents that is totally not your fault; for example if a guy hits you from behind whilst being stationary at a red traffic light in HIGHLY visible conditions. If yes, is this a fair practise to penalise you in terms of your risk profile. How does the accident free period affect ones risk profile and do you take a drivers full driving history into account or only the accident free period?
Different car insurance companies have different policies in terms of accident free periods. Some insurers apportion blame on a case by case basis as it is normally difficult to generalise when trying to determine who is to blame for an accident. We suggest that you discuss the merits of your situation with your insurer.
