What happens if I was involved in an accident and the car was written off, but according to my panelbeater, the car can be fixed?
In the event of a total loss, you the client has the choice of making use of your own panelbeater. If your own panelbeater can repair the vehicle, the total repairs must be below 70% of the insured value. We will further require that you the insured, sign a disclaimer confirming that this is done on your request and risk.
If the vehicle is financed we may also need to ask permission from the finance house.
