Tips To Live Your Best Life – Your Way

With the busyness of life and year-end fatigue getting the better of us, things can get so demanding that we forget about the things that matter the most – mental and physical wellbeing. This can add to unnecessary stress that could have been avoided.

Here are a few ways you can minimise stress, deal with year-end fatigue and live your best life:

  • Meditate
Mediation is a great way to clear the mind, forget about the stresses of daily life and get in tune with your inner self. Not everyone can master the science of clearing their mind, but there are many apps that can help you do so. Take some time out in the morning to meditate or if it works better to do it at night, go ahead. It makes a world of difference – your mind, body and soul with thank you.
  • Practice self-care
Many of us focus so much on our relationships with colleagues, friends and family that we often forget about the one person that matters most: ourselves. Take time out during the week to spend time with yourself. Read that book that’s been on your shelf for months or take an extra-long bubble bath. If you’re going to finally catch-up on your favourite series, go ahead. The more you check-in with yourself, the happier you will be!
  • Take a road trip
Reliving exciting memories about a fun trip you had is something money cannot buy.  Let’s be honest, the regular hustle and bustle of work and not having enough savings can make you find an excuse not to travel. Who said you need to save thousands of rands for a fun experience? Book your ‘recoup’ trip during off-peak seasons, which is usually between April and June and then between August and October. This will save you a considerable sum of money and prevent you from standing in long queues when sight-seeing.
  • Take care of your insurance
Life can be stressful. The last thing you need is an additional hiccup that forces you to replace an item that could have been covered by your insurance. If you’re taking your car on a road trip, take comfort in the fact that in the unfortunate event of an accident, you will still be covered. Whether you’re taking a trip with your car and you require car insurance, or you’ll want to cover your valuables at home with home insurance,  you need peace of mind.

At the end of the day, if you continue to live your way, you’ll have a much more optimistic outlook on life. And when this happens, you’ll see how easy it is to spread positivity around you too!
