The following terms and conditions are applicable to MiWay clients for their referrals.

Refer your family and friends to get a quotation with MiWay and be rewarded for spreading the love. For every friend or family member with an active policy, you will walk away with a retail voucher in your pocket. That’s right, the more you refer the more you earn!

How does the referral process work?

Referring is easy. Simply contact us on 0860 64 64 64 and speak to one of our friendly consultants who will help load your referral or load your referral via the MiWay Mobile App.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The irefer programme and incentives is open to clients of MiWay. In the event of the  appointment of a Broker(s) on a Client(s) policy(ies), participation in the irefer campaign by the Client(s) is prohibited. It is advisable to consult with your broker and confirm if they have their own referral campaign.
  2. You as the referrer, a MiWay client, is not rendering service as an intermediary nor advisory services as contemplated in the FAIS Act or any other applicable legislation.
  3. There are a few checks and balances we need to confirm before we make contact with your referral which could result in removing your contact from the referral process, because:
    • they are existing clients, in other words, they already have a MiWay policy,
    • they have already obtained a quotation from MiWay in the last 30 days prior to your referral,
    • they are on our "Do Not Contact" list.
  4. MiWay may reject their referral in its sole discretion if:
    • the fair spirit of the campaign was not upheld;
    • the maximum number of attempts were exceeded by the irefer team.
    • the referral is referred to MiWay using the incorrect process.
  5. A MiWay Client who is also a MiWay Employee may not access his/her own MiWay policy to load referrals under their own policy as this is deemed a conflict of interest. If you are a MiWay Employee we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the MiWay irefer Employee terms and conditions.
  6. A MiWay Client who is also a MiWay Employee may not access his/her friends and/or family member’s policies to load referrals as this is deemed a conflict of interest. If you are a MiWay Employee we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the MiWay irefer Employee terms and conditions. If your referral was not received via the prescribed methods, your referral will be deemed as invalid and you as the referrer, will not qualify for any benefits.
  7. Your referral will remain valid for a period of 30 days, in the event that your referral was not rejected for any other reason.
    • If the irefer team did not manage to contact your referral during this period, and no sale was made your lead will be deemed as expired.
  8. The processing of Personal Information of any data subject is subject to applicable South African laws.
  9. Referrals must be through such mediums as may be prescribed by MiWay from time to time.
  10. MiWay Client referrals will not be accepted by MiWay, if the MiWay Client has not followed the procedure as expressed by MiWay that governs the manner in which referrals are supplied or loaded to the MiWay system. The MiWay Client will be deemed to have breached the terms and conditions of the campaign, if it is found that the MiWay Client who is also a MiWay Employee attempted to gain a benefit from the campaign to the prejudice of MiWay and such Employee will be subject to disciplinary action.
  11. You as the referrer, a MiWay client, are encouraged to notify your contact in regard to:
    • the sharing of their contacts details with MiWay and
    • that MiWay will be in contact shortly to request consent to conduct a quotation.
    • Your friend/family member will have the opportunity to opt-out when we contact them.
  12. You as the referrer, a MiWay client, will qualify for a digital voucher*, upon the successful collection of the full first premium for their policy, which is payable within 30 days from the date of successful collection of that premium
    • If you successfully referred someone for any of our non-life insurance products, you will receive a digital voucher to the value of R1000*
    • If you successfully referred someone for any of our value added products, you will receive a digital voucher to the value of R300*
  13. If your referral has taken a policy through another lead source and not via the irefer campaign, you as the referrer, a MiWay client, will not qualify for any benefit.
  14. For each referral that takes out a policy with MiWay you as the referrer, a MiWay client, will be entered into our monthly draw for a chance to win an additional R5,000 from 1 July 2024. This initiative is valid for a limited time. To qualify for the draw, your referrals must meet the following criteria:
    • MiWay must have successfully collected the first full premium from your referral(s).
    • Your referral must have purchased cover for any of our personal lines non-life insurance products, such as home contents, vehicle cover, or building insurance cover, or any of our value-added products for example: MiWarranty or MiMotor Combo.
    • Your referral will be considered invalid:
      • If the Referred cancels their policy within 30 days of the first premium being collected.
      • If MiWay issues a refund of the premium to the Referred.
      • If the Referred reverses their premium.
  15. MiWay will pay you your digital voucher value (DZAR / Digital Rands) via your cellphone number noted on your MiWay policy. To claim your Digital Rands, please follow the prescribed methods below.
  16. If you are a pre-existing 6DOT50 account holder your Digital Rands (DZAR) will already be in your digital wallet. To use your Digital Rands you must login to your 6DOT50 account.
    • You will receive in-app notifications confirming the transaction made to your account.
    • Click here to login to your 6DOT50 account on the web or login via the mobile app.
  17. If you are a first time user you will receive a SMS with the link to download the 6DOT50 App once we have paid you your digital voucher value (DZAR/Digital Rands).
  18. To claim your digital voucher value, you must register for an account with 6DOT50. To register your account on the web, click here or register via the mobile app.
  19. If you are not entirely satisfied with holding Digital Voucher Value you may request a cash refund at any Pick n Pay by generating a WiCode on the app. A fee will be payable by the Client for every refund processed. The maximum refund is limited to R1000 per withdrawal more information can be obtained on the 6DOT50 App.

  21. Your Digital Rands will be reversed to MiWay’s account if you have failed to register for a 6DOT50 Account within 365 days of us sending you your Digital Rands.

  25. MiWay reserves the right to abolish certain rewards if they prove ineffective or inefficient. Such changes will be communicated clearly and timeously. MiWay Clients who referred candidates before a reward was abolished will still receive the appropriate reward.
  26. MiWay reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time provided that any accrued benefits shall not be affected by such amendments.
  27. MiWay may at any time and in its absolute discretion cancel the irefer initiative provided that any such cancellation shall not affect any accrued benefits.
  28. This campaign is exclusive to the personal lines non-life insurance product offerings and value-added products.
