5 Challenges to Take Up in 2019

The beginning of a new year always comes with a promise of a fresh start. Whether you make resolutions or just simple changes to your life, we’ve put together a couple of ideas that could inspire you to make 2019 a year to remember!

  1. Make time for YOU! Spending time doing something that you love and enjoy makes your world a better place – even for just that moment. From catching up on your favourite series, reading a book, going on holiday or going on a hike, make time for the little things that bring you joy.
  2. Treat yourself! Honestly, you deserve it. Set time aside to properly spoil yourself and pamper yourself – whether it’s shopping for new home contents, going out for dessert or simply enjoying a massage.
  3. Bring out your inner master chef! If you’re one of those that can handle the heat in the kitchen, then why not turn it up a little? This is the year that you become known for that signature dish! Explore your talents and don’t be shy to experiment – your friends, family and colleagues will happily be your testers.
  4. Start on your bucket list! Try out that one thing you’ve secretly wanted to do, but have never had the guts to. Ever wished you could speak another language or play an instrument? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to take a road trip through South Africa (just remember to double check that your car insurance policy is up-to-date)!
  5. Break the boundaries of your comfort zone! You don’t need to challenge yourself to do something major, just do something to break the routine of your normal day. Why not write (and post) a letter, buy an item of clothing from a charity shop that you really like (but is totally not your style) – and wear it (!), or even attend a laughter therapy session (what is that, anyway?)!

At the end of the day, no two people have the exact same needs and desires; establish what is important to you and what brings you the most joy. Remember to prioritise yourself and your time correctly, share a smile, laugh a little and live your way!
