Terms and Conditions
1. Competition
1.1 Miway Insurance Limited (“Miway”), in partnership with Jacaranda FM, is running the “Friday MiDay” competition (“Competition”).
1.2 The Competition forms part of Miway's sponsorship of Friday Is MiDay, a Jacaranda FM feature where listeners are invited to share why Friday is their day by submitting voice notes.
1.3 Selected voice notes may be played on air during Breakfast with Martin Bester, Fridays between 06:00 and 09:00.
1.4 The Competition aims to celebrate the Friday feeling and give eligible participants the opportunity to win a cash prize.
2. Competition period
2.1 The Competition will commence on 4 September 2026 and close on 30 November 2026 (“Competition Period”).
2.2 voice notes received before the campaign opens or after the Competition closes will not qualify.
2.3 Miway and Jacaranda reserve the right to amend, extend, suspend or terminate the Campaign where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.
3. Who may enter?
3.1 The Competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years or older, subject to the exclusions below.
3.2 Participants must provide accurate and valid information when entering the Competition.
3.3 The following persons are not eligible to participate:
a) Directors, employees and agents of Miway;
b) Directors, employees and agents of Jacaranda FM and/or its participating service providers;
c) Employees of Miway's advertising, marketing, creative, media and other agencies directly involved in the Competition;
d) The immediate family members of persons referred to above; and Company Confidential
e) Any other person directly involved in the administration or execution of the Competition.
4. How to enter
4.1 To enter, participants must submit a voice note via the instructions provided by Jacaranda FM during the Competition Period.
4.2 The voice note must explain why Friday is the participant's day.
4.3 Entries must be original and submitted by the participants.
4.4 Participants must follow all entry instructions provided by Miway and/or Jacaranda FM.
4.5 Entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted, submitted through an unauthorised channel or received outside the Competition Period may be disqualified.
5. Entry requirements
5.1 Each voice note must:
a) be the participant's original content;
b) relate to the Friday Is MiDay theme;
c) be suitable for public broadcast;
d) not contain unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, threatening, obscene or otherwise inappropriate content; and
e) not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of any third party.
5.2 Participants must not include confidential, sensitive or unnecessary personal information about themselves or another person in their voice note.
5.4 Miway and/or Jacaranda FM reserve the right to reject or disqualify any entry that does not comply with these requirements.
6. Selection of entries
6.1 E Eligible entries will be assessed by an appointed judging panel based on creativity, originality, relevance to the Friday Is MiDay theme and suitability for broadcast.
6.2 The Competition will award R1 000 (One Thousand Rand) to the selected winner for each applicable Friday during the Competition Period.
6.3 I If the winner is verified as an active Miway policyholder at the time of winner verification, they will receive an additional R1 000 bringing your total winnings to R2000.
6.4 The decision of the appointed judging/selection panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of winners, subject to applicable law. Company Confidential
6.5 A participant may submit multiple entries, however only one prize may be awarded to the same individual during the Competition Period.
7. Prizes
7.1 Each applicable weekly prize consists of R1 000 (One Thousand Rand) cash.
7.2 The total Competition prize pool is R40 000 (Forty Thousand Rand).
7.3 No prize may be exchanged for another prize, transferred to another person or redeemed for its cash equivalent, other than where the prize itself is cash.
7.4 Miway reserves the right, where reasonably necessary and subject to applicable law, to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
8. Winner verification
8.1 A potential winner will be contacted using the contact details supplied during entry.
8.2 The potential winner may be required to provide reasonable documentation to verify their identity and eligibility.
8.3 This may include:
a) proof of identity;
b) proof of contact details;
c) banking confirmation; and/or
d) any other reasonable documentation required to process the prize.
8.4 Miway will not be responsible for a failure to contact a potential winner where the contact details provided are incorrect, incomplete or no longer valid.
8.5 If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to provide the required verification information within 60 days and/or is found to be ineligible or otherwise fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions, their prize may be forfeited.
9. Prize payment
9.1 Once the winner has successfully completed the verification process, the prize will be paid into a valid bank account belonging to the winner, subject to the applicable payment process.

9.3 Miway will not be responsible for delays caused by incorrect banking information, banking institutions or circumstances outside Miway's reasonable control.
10. Use of voice notes and publicity
10.1 By submitting an entry, the participant acknowledges that their voice note may be selected and played on Jacaranda FM as part of Friday Is MiDay.
10.2The participant grants Miway and Jacaranda FM a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, broadcast and communicate the submitted voice note for purposes connected with the Competition and Friday Is MiDay, subject to applicable law.
10.3 Such use may include broadcast on radio and publication on relevant digital and social media channels.
10.4 Where a winner's name, voice, photograph or other identifying information is used for publicity purposes, the participant's consent will be obtained in accordance with applicable law and Miway's approved consent process.
11. Personal information
11.1 Miway will process participants' personal information for purposes including administering the Competition, verifying entries and winners, communicating with participants and facilitating prize payment.
11.2 Participants' personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy legislation and Miway's Privacy Policy, available at www.miway.co.za.
11.3 Participants should not include unnecessary personal information relating to themselves or third parties in their voice notes.
12. Disqualification
12.1 Miway reserves the right to disqualify an entry if:
a) the participant breaches these Terms and Conditions;
b) the entry contains fraudulent, misleading or dishonest information;
c) the participant attempts to manipulate or unfairly influence the Competition;
d) the entry is not original;
e) the participant is not eligible to enter; or
f) the entry contains unlawful, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or inappropriate content. Company Confidential
12.2 Miway reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent or dishonest activity and to take appropriate action.
13. General
13.1 Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
13.2 Miway reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.
13.3 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
13.4 Miway will not be liable for any technical failure, network interruption, telecommunications failure or other circumstance beyond its reasonable control that prevents a participant from entering the Competition.
13.5 Miway is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, incomplete or not successfully received for any reason.
13.6 Miway's decision regarding the administration of the Competition and selection of winners will be final, subject to applicable law.
14. Competition administrator
14.1 The Competition is administered by Miway Insurance Limited in partnership with Jacaranda FM.
